GLO FRIENDS Finger Puppets MIP - Child/Kid Dimension Series Series includes 8 characters, showing only 5 No Copyright Year on packaging, probably made after 1988/1980s |
GLO FRIENDS Finger Puppets MIP - Child/Kid Dimension Series Back of packaging shown |
There isn't much information known about these GLO FRIENDS finger puppets that were produced by a company called Child Dimension, aka Kid Dimension. There is no Copyright year printed anywhere on the packaging. The price tags that were removed look like they might be from Big Lots which would mean it was made well after 1988. I have seen a different toy made by Child Dimension that was made in 1992, so I would be it was produced around that time. The back of the packaging shows that there are supposed to be 8 characters, but I only have found 5 so far. Any of these are rare, but so is any packaged finger puppet. While I think they are interesting because of not having a date, I prefer actual 1980s Hasbro / Playskool GLO FRIENDS items. These just don't seem as authentic.
5 shown in this post are:
1. Glo Cricket
2. Glo Skunkbug
3. Glo Bookbug
4. Glo Snugbug
5. Glo Spider
Missing from collection:
1. Glo Worm
2. Glo Bashfulbug
3. Glo Butterfly

I actually bought some of these when they were in stores! I found them in a specific branch of dollar stores (I can't remember what the stores were called now, though) sometime in the late 90's. I remember I'd only just started collecting toys from my childhood and I was so excited to find something being re-released like that. I wish I'd bought all of them at the time, instead of only two :/
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling they were sold at a Pic N Save (Big Lots) because of the price tag on the packaging. Thanks for sharing your story!
DeleteI had a similar experience with some packaged Care Bears at (what was) Pic N Save. I had just started collecting toys and passed them up. I didn't like the design, it was something red, white, and blue I think. Now I think it would've been better to regret buying them, rather than not at all. ;)
