There were several different GLO FRIENDS packaging changes through the years for the English version of the Glo Friends finger puppets in the blister card packs. English versions also covered both US and UK markets, so the same doll was reproduced a few times. Hasbro started with 8 GLO FRIENDS Finger Puppets in 1984. Playskool stopped producing them in 1988, with 20 different finger puppet characters available for sale on their own plus 9 more available through Sets and Mail Order. So, there was a total of 29 GLO FRIENDS Finger Puppet characters, plus one Tree House (Glo Land), and 6 different Animal friends (including Dragonflyer). All of this will be covered in a separate post of course. ;) I'm saving the best for last!
For now, this is just to show fellow collectors the different types of packages. I have added a Page with a checklist for Cards & Bags, but still need to match them to the packaging I have shown here. These are all original 1980s toys that were opened by me, so I still have all the finger puppets, bags and character cards to go with these.
Also, for a fun fact, I noticed that one series produced in 1986, didn't include Glo Worm! It appears to be the only time they produced them without him being a part of the group (see Playskool 1986 pics above). Which as you know, because he and a few others were produced in nearly every series, this makes Glo Worm the most common/easy to find. Whereas a small handful were produced in the second half only, and limited, thus making them more rare.
