Here's a group of pictures showing different crib toys, which are "Glo Worm" items, not necessarily part of the "Glo Friends" brand of toys.

Note that there are TWO versions of the Crib light. First is called a Glo Worm CRIB Light (Crib = U.S.) and has a slightly different design than the other version. If it has a beach ball in the picture, then you have the US version Crib Light (1985 copyright). Other version is the "Cot Light" (Cot = UK), pictured in this post (1986 copyright).

Here's the details on the items pictured:

1. 1986 Playskool Musical GLO WORM Cot Light (Cot = UK version). Somehow, though it's boxed, it has damage to the design that turns inside the window. Still good to show the box design though.     ***** $+ *****

2. 1985 Hasbro / Meritus / Daylites GLO WORM Musical Lite-up Wall Plaque - This is harder to find, especially boxed. The design is paper, so showing wear is rather common if you are able to find it. Though the picture on the box shows a yellow border, mine is actually purple. Purchased from Canada, but I believe this is a US item.     ***** $-$$ *****

3. 1984 Hasbro / Meritus GLO WORM Musical Wishing Well - Here's another Meritus item, that uses a popular Glo Worm box design with the yellow border. Every now and then, this item will show up for sale. But be careful when purchasing - often times the Glo Baby toy on the cord (see picture of baby pulling on it) is usually broken off. Also, the handle that turns is broken off too. Be sure to check on these issues before purchasing. Purchased in the US.     ***** $+ *****

4. Year/Mfr ? GLO FRIENDS Paper Crib Mobile - This was purchased from the UK. It came in the bag shown in the first picture, and has a british pounds price tag sticker on it. I think it's original to the set, but no way of really knowing right now. Appears to have never been assembled.     ***** $ *****

  1. Hi there,
This might be a long shot but I thought I would ask. I actually have one of these from my childhood and I want to give it to my child. I have look all over online but have been unsuccessful in finding any information on this toy. The thing is I think it is missing the light. Is it possible to tell me what kind of light this takes or if there is a part that goes in beside the battery? I would greatly appreciate it.

  2. Hi. Hopefully you've found your answer by now. Sorry, I don't get on this blog as often as I'd like to. There is a part, and depending on the year the toy was made, it will look different. There are manufactured dates on the light sticks to help narrow down the one you need. Wow. I guess I'd have to work on this. Thanks for the question. Off the top of my head, I'd say they were marked 1982 or 1984 or 1986 for the earlier ones. Then, the ones from 1988/1990 would be marked for either of those years. They are skinnier if I remember right, possibly for the "stars" ones, but I'm thinking for the "thermal" ones. Hopefully the light stick has been tested before you buy it. Especially if there is corrosion. Some dolls are cheap enough to buy the doll with the light stick, and swap out the stick to put in your sentimental doll. ;) Search on ebay for "light stick", like "playskool light stick", or "glo worm light stick". Try searching different ways, but usually they're easy to find, when and if they're for sale. Most are under $10. Good luck.
